Peter J. Salmon, a Partner in the Firm, practices in the areas of commercial and civil litigation, bankruptcy, creditor's
rights, and real estate on behalf of financial institutions.
Mr. Salmon earned a juris doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. As a law
student, Mr. Salmon actively participated in Moot Court, representing the University in two national
competitions and serving on the Appellate Moot Court Board. Mr. Salmon also served as Honor
Court Prosecutor and was elected as class representative to the student government for two
consecutive years. He achieved the highest grade in his Basic Trial Advocacy course and received a
Dean's Distinguished Service Award upon his graduation.
Prior to his legal education, Mr. Salmon obtained his B.A. in Economics magna cum laude from
Boston College. He obtained an M.B.A. in Professional Accounting from Rutgers
University. FMr. Salmon also worked in the audit practice of the New York office of
Price Waterhouse.
Mr. Salmon is admitted to the state courts of California, Idaho, Utah and Washington, as
well as the District of Columbia. He is also admitted to the United States
District Court for the Central, Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of
California, as well as the United States District Courts of Idaho, Utah and Washington.
He is a
member of the Bankruptcy Law section of the San Diego County Bar Association, the American Bar
Association, the San Diego Bankruptcy Forum, and the California Mortgage Bankers Association.
Mr. Salmon is a member of the Board of Directors of the University of San Diego School of Law Alumni
Association, on which he chairs the Recent Alumni Committee. He is also the President of the
Boston College Alumni Club of San Diego County.
Prior to joining Pite Duncan, LLP, Mr. Salmon represented the interests of chapter 7
bankruptcy trustees, unsecured and secured creditors in bankruptcy, and creditors in commercial
litigation in both State and Federal Courts. He also has worked as an instructor of Corporations in
the University of San Diego Paralegal Program from 1998 through 2001.
