John Duncan, a partner at Pite Duncan, LLP, practices law in the areas of commercial/civil litigation, creditor bankruptcy, real estate, and appellate law on behalf of financial institutions and other financial services entities.
Mr. Duncan earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. As a law student, Mr. Duncan actively participated in Moot Court competitions, resulting in his election to the Appellate Moot Court Board. While in law school, Mr. Duncan served as Judicial Extern at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. His legal training also included studies at Oxford University, England. Prior to law school, Mr. Duncan spent three years as a full time Court Clerk, Los Angeles Judicial District. Mr. Duncan earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Southern California.
Mr. Duncan frequently lectures on loan-servicing and legal issues. He has presented at numerous state and national events including conferences for the USFN, AFN, Real Estate Owned Managers Association (REOMAC), the United Trustees Association, the California Mortgage Bankers Association, the Mortgage Bankers Association of America and the California Credit Union Collectors Council. Mr. Duncan has provided over one hundred on-site training seminars and legal update presentations to financial institutions. Mr. Duncan has taught a 30-hour Bankruptcy Law course at the University of California, San Diego.
Mr. Duncan is admitted to practice in the courts of Washington, California, Texas, and the District of Columbia.
