Prior to joining Pite Duncan, Mr. McDermott served as a law clerk for Mark Cuban Companies and the Sports Law/Representation division of Matheny, Sears, Linkert & Long.

Mr. McDermott earned his Juris Doctor degree from The University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was named to the Robert J. Traynor Honor Society. Mr. McDermott also earned his Masters of Business Administration from The University of the Pacific, Eberhardt School of Business where he graduated with honors. While at The University of the Pacific Mr. McDermott was a founding Officer of the Eberhardt Student Investment Fund where he served as the Chief Administrator in a student directed $1 million mutual fund.

Mr. McDermott graduated first in his graduating class from New Mexico State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance/Accounting. He was named Most Outstanding Graduate for the College of Business Administration and Economics and given the Top Finance Senior Award.
